Natural Kids: Protective Hairstyles

Hey Loves,

School is back in session in our household. I will be heading back to the classroom for another round of preparing the little minds of the future while my daughter is making the jump to Preschool. Like many of you reading this, our mornings are a whirlwind of trying to get dressed, grabbing a bite to eat, and finally getting the family in the car so that I can be at work before 7am.

Since Bri’s hair is growing like a weed and requires a little more work to style and manage it, protective styling has become my best friend. My go-to style for her has been braids and beads lately. I will admit I’m not an expert braider…I just learned how to braid 2 years ago lol. But thanks to Youtube University I have learned many techniques to help me with protective styling.

I love for little girls to look like little girls. Meaning for my 3 year old daughter I choose appropriate styles that reflect her age. She’s a kid who loves to flip, run, and climb on everything so I make sure she has a hairstyle that can adapt to all of her craziness. I know I’m not the only mom searching Pinterest and Google for hair inspirations, so below are a few of my favorite protective styles and video links that can help hair beginners and vets.
