MommyMoments: DIY Tutu Basket

Hey Loves,

Today I’m going to share with you my latest DIY project. For Easter I wanted to try something new and unique, so I decided to jazz up my daughter’s basket with some custom creativity. I love making tutus so I created a tutu-inspired Easter basket for my little BriMonster. In addition, I drew inspiration from a few Pinterest pins and the lovely pastel colors of Spring. Below is a simple No Sew tutorial to make the tutu that will be placed around the basket. For those of you on Instagram I would love to see your baskets and be sure to tag your pictures #beesosimple so I can spot them. I hope you guys enjoy this craft and remember to have fun and create.

MommyMoments: Frozen Applesauce Dots

Apple-edit4

Hey Loves,

I’m back with a yummy frozen treat for your little ones. Today we’ll be diving into a Pinterest-inspired recipe for frozen applesauce dots. Since my daughter has been teething on and off for the past couple of months I have been looking for an alternative to sugary Popsicles. While browsing one day I stumble upon a pin about frozen applesauce dots and decided to try it out.

Directions

Wash and cut apples into chunks (I used three apples)

Apple-edit1

Place apple in a saucepan and add enough water to almost cover the apples. Boil on medium to high heat until apples are completely soft.

Let apples cool. Blend/Puree apples into a smooth consistency. Stir and check for lumps. (I also add a dash on cinnamon for taste)

Apple-edit2

Place desired amount into sandwich bag and cut the tip off one corner to make it easy to squeeze out your dots. (I used about 3 ½ tablespoons for mine. The rest of the puree was used as applesauce) Cover a cookie sheet with wax paper and make your applesauce dots. Size is a personal preferences, I made mine bite size for my daughter.

Place your cookies sheet in the freeze (It took about 2 hours for my dots to freeze). Once dots are frozen store in a freeze safe bag or container.

My daughter absolutely loved this snack and it has become a staple in our household. Let me know if you have tried this or something similar to this. Be sure to tag your pictures #beesosimple so I can check out your recipes.

SimpleTalk: Mommy Moments

I can honestly say having my daughter showed me the true definition of love. In October I’ll be entering my 10 month milestone of motherhood and it has been amazing. Of course there are days when I feel I’m completely crashing and burning at this motherhood thing but then there are days that I feel I deserve the mother of the year award. This post is not meant to give any advice about being a mom, but rather show that being a mom can be a crazy emotional rollercoaster ride full of drops and turns. Just make sure to hold on tight because the thrill is different for each person 🙂

So today I’d like to share with you my top ten mommy moments.

  1. Seeing my baby girl for the first time
  2. Her first gassy smile
  3. Before she could crawl she would slide on her belly like a walrus across the floor
  4. The first time she bumped her head
  5. The fact I can say anything and she will crack up laughing
  6. Watching her interact with her dad
  7. Standing and clapping like a big girl
  8. Cuddles when she is feeling sick
  9. Countless hour of Jake and the Neverland Pirates (seriously I easily know the theme song by heart)
  10. Most of all she has given my life so much more meaning while inspiring me to work hard and enjoy every second of life.
